Mission Statement:To provide a comprehensive scope of services for the children with special needs, and a broad spectrum of specialized services for the children, and as resources are available, for adults; to conduct programs to improve the educational, medical and general community's knowledge of the issues involving persons with special needs, and to advocate for programs to meet those needs; to undertake clinical research to improve the quality of services for children with special needs; and to be organized and operated as a not-for-profit organization exclusively for charitable, educational, and scientific purposes, including, for such purposes, the making of the distributions to organizations under section 501- c (3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or corresponding section of any future federal tax code. The Vision of Children's Specialized Hospital is to: 1) Place the needs of the child and family at the center of all activities; 2) Encourage the worth of the individual employee in an atmosphere of respect, empowering each to act in a consistent process of continuing quality improvement; 3) Be recognized as the pre-eminent pediatric rehabilitation provider in New Jersey, throughout the region, and indeed with national impact on pediatric rehabilitation, through teaching and research activities; 4) Develop a professional and support staff with depth in pediatric rehabilitation, providing unequaled access to specialized rehabilitation services; 5) Pursue and maintain fiscal viability, assuring open access to services without regard to the ability to pay.
