Mission Statement: | First Children School's goal is to promote the social, emotional, cognitive, language and physical development of each student. Occupational, physical and speech therapies are delivered individually and in small groups. A developmental pediatrician observes students in the classroom and, with the teacher, regularly reviews students' overall status, and suggests strategies to be used in the classroom setting and at home. A pediatric physiatrist assesses pupils' motoric progress and recommends intervention, where indicated. Older students participate in social skills groups led by educational psychologists. The social worker and pychologist conduct periodic sibling groups and monthly parent meetings. |
